IFU
Description: This monoclonal antibody recognizes Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein (GFAP) and does not cross-react with other intermediate filament proteins. This marker stains astrocytes, ependymal cells, and their corresponding tumors but does not stain lymphatic tissue, muscle, gastrointestinal tract, liver, kidney, pancreas, and bladder.
This marker has been shown to be useful for:
- Distinguishing neoplasms of astrocytic origin
- Differentiating primary gliomas from metastatic lesions in the brain
- Documenting astrocytic differentiation in tumors outside of the central nervous system
