Description: This antibody recognizes the alpha-smooth muscle isoform of actin present in smooth muscles targeting an epitope within the first four amino acids of the N-terminal. This antibody is highly specific for actin from smooth muscle and does not show cross-reaction with fibroblasts, striated muscle, or myocardium. This monoclonal antibody is useful for identifying tumors arising from smooth muscle and myoepithelial cells and can be used together with anti-muscle-specific actin and myogenin to differentiate smooth muscle from skeletal muscle tumors.
