Description: Melan-A is a melanoma-specific antigen on neoplastic melanocytes that is recognized by cytotoxic T lymphocytes1. Melan-A is expressed in skin and in many melanocytes. Antibodies labeling Melan-A have been shown to be useful for labeling melanomas and other tumors showing melanocytic differentiation while not staining tumor cells of epithelial, lymphoid, glial, or mesenchymal origin2,3.
