Description: This monoclonal antibody recognizes desmin, which is an intermediate filament protein, and labels cells of normal smooth, skeletal, and cardiac muscles. The antibody does not cross-react with other intermediate filament proteins.
This marker has been shown to be useful for identifying tumors of myogenic origin including leiomyosarcomas and rhabdomyosarcomas.
